Regarding Age Rating on Videos

Tis quite bothersome…

As I’m sure you are all well aware, anime fights usually have some kind of blood here and there. If you don’t like watching videos with violence and blood then you’re on the wrong site. If you hadn’t realized that after reading the sub title, I suggest you just uninstall your internet browser.

If you really want us to add age ratings to the more violent battles, we will. But personally they’d really be almost no point. I mean c’mon, it’s Anime – not ganster rape.

Another problem is that it varies from country to country, and it’s hard enough finding out what it is in the UK let alone China.

So your answer is, mabye.

As you may have noticed, we’ve decided to go down the Youtube path rather than Veoh. Not only will this provide you with easy access download link, but full HD videos in 1280 x 720. Well, rather 640 x 360.

What have we got instore for you?

  • Couple of HD Final Fantasy: Advent Children Fight Scenes.
  • Planning to cover Samurai Champloo fights, once a HQ source is found.
  • Perhaps a bit of naruto here and there, from the early-ish episodes.

I know, I know – and I’m very sorry. I already had the files sitting on my computer, so why not just stuff ‘em in? Different series coming soon :) . This intro’s kinda… different. It definitely reminds me more of and ending rather than the usual bleach openings. Well, at least it’s better than the recent Naruto ones.

One of my favourite battles from the more recent episodes.  The music really adds to this one, a mix of alien and mexicano. My only critisism I could think of, is why shinji’s cero isn’t yellow?

Many bits and bobs have now been sorted out.

Our main problem is finding sources, especially for old anime such as Akira. We have a HQ policy here on Stabbler :)

Before we start building up our expansive collection of anime battles, we need to decide what paths to take, and how to do it. We must decide on a video hoster (most likely youtube or veoh), and what format to render videos for the top steaming quality. Why not the newly released VideoPress? Because it is far too expensive and we’d run out of space pretty quick. I also have to choose a method of transcoding videos, which is tricky.

The benifits of uploading on youtube are

  • widescreen
  • easy to download the videos (HQ)
  • HD/HQ function, but will at first render as SD

The benifits of uploading on veoh are

  • Longer time limit
  • Higher Quality as the normal/preset
  • No real widescreen, but does do a very good fullscreen
  • Perhaps less possible copyright issues

We may also add in a Anime Intro and Ending section after we have a considerable number of battle videos, perhaps…
